About WSN

Photos beyond The Scroll

WhySoNegative is an independent photography project built around atmosphere, analog nostalgia and real moments.

Originally created by Australian/Canadian photographer and hospitality entrepreneur Jon Lovett. The project is a reaction to disposable internet culture and algorithm driven imagery.  WSN exists to showcase photography with feeling, texture and genuine sense of place.

The collection currently centres around Jon’s own work, with long term plans to slowly expand into a carefully curated platform featuring photographers with a similar emotional and visual language.

No AI generated artwork.
No mass produced filler.
No endless content mill.

Warm light, quiet moments, beautiful imperfections.  Images that we think are worth slowing down for.

We offer carefully curated photography designed to create emotion and atmosphere to enjoy in real, design-conscious spaces.

Curated | Intentional | Human

Why the name?

The name started as a reference to photographic negatives.

But it also reflects the mood of modern internet.

It often feels fast. Angry. Disposable. Sad.

WhySoNegative was built as a slower alternative. A place for photography that feels human.  Emotional.

Warm light.
Quiet moments.
Beautiful imperfections.
Images worth sitting with instead of scrolling past.

Photography that stays with you.
